Thomas Gurr - First Officer

Tommy was born and raised in Eastbourne, England. He left home and moved to Australia in 1994. While living there he was invited to join a sailing yacht to compete in the Sydney to Hobart yacht race. This race was a defining moment in his life and he made the decision to make yachting a career. In 2001, he began his yachting career sailing yachts. A year later, Tommy studied and achieved his captain’s license.

With his new license, Tommy decided to transition from sailing to motor yachts where he has been working ever since. Over the years, he has been fortunate to cruise the Pacific, Southeast Asia, Indian Ocean, Central America and both coasts of North America. He has also traveled the more traditional cruising grounds of the Mediterranean and Caribbean a number of times. Given the choice he would love to return to the South Pacific islands. When off the boat Tommy enjoys playing golf, photography, water sports and keeping fit.
