Darren Niedermayr - Deckhand

Darren used to work for his father’s engineering company in his hometown of Durban. Searching for a change and at the recommendation of a friend, he made his move into yachting thinking what better way to make a living while traveling. Starting out in Antibes he was lucky to be in the right place at the right time and got his very first job aboard Cakewalk. Being the driven man that he is, Darren is planning on making his way to the top and looking forward to getting his Master 3000.

Darren is described as generous, energetic, easy going and positive individual. He is quite athletic too and loves playing sports, especially soccer and anything on the water. He loves to live life to the fullest and try out new things. A few things he wants to do are to learn French, travel to Thailand to train in the martial art of Muay Thai and give wingsuit flying a shot.

As for traveling, Darren has happily met his dreams of boating the canals of Venice and experiencing the Grand Prix in Monaco. Next up is Las Vegas and New York. He also wants to travel throughout all of Africa and hopes to one day do a bit of philanthropy work when the time is right.
